Special Envoy Grenell has continued to engage in complex negotiations to return Americans from wrongful foreign detainment.
President Donald Trump’s special presidential envoy for special missions Richard Grenell announced Wednesday that Air Force veteran Joseph St. Clair was freed from Venezuelan detention on Tuesday. U.S. negotiators met with Venezuelan officials to arrange for St. Clair’s release in a “neutral country” to enact what Ambassador Grenell called “an America First Strategy.”
Envoy Grenell made the announcement, posting pictures of himself and St. Clair boarding a small airplane with the simple caption: “Joe St. Clair is back in America.”
St. Clair was detained by Venezuelan authorities last November, and his parents are relieved that their son has returned to the United States.
“This news came suddenly, and we are still processing it — but we are overwhelmed with joy and gratitude,” his parents said.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Envoy Grenell to be led by the Lord as he works to free Americans wrongfully held in other countries.
- For discernment for President Trump and Secretary Rubio as they engage foreign leaders and ministers.
