President Trump Meets With South African President

He played a video of other SA politicians calling for the murder of white farmers to support claims of persecution and violence.

President Donald Trump used a video of white crosses along roadways and other South African politicians chanting and calling for the killing of white farmers to confront South African President Cyril Ramaphosa’s denials of genocide occurring in his country.

President Trump said during the playback, “This is very bad. These are burial sites right here… over a thousand white farmers and those cars are lined up to pay love on Sunday morning, each one of those white things you see are a cross. There’s approximately a thousand of them, they’re all white farmers.”

President Ramaphosa said, “I’d like to know where that is. Because this I’ve never seen.”

Referring to one of the clips that showed a large stadium filled with people chanting about killing farmers, President Trump said, “It’s more than just a little movement, it’s a pretty big movement in South Africa. So, it has to be resolved.“

The South African president responded, “Our government policy is completely, completely against what you were saying, even in the Parliament. And they’re a small minority party, which is allowed to exist, in terms of our constitution.”

South African professional golfers Ernie Els and Retief Goosen were among that nation’s delegation. Els stated, “We want to see things get better in our country, and that’s the bottom line. … I don’t think two wrongs makes a right.“ He said that South Africa needs U.S. support to “get the change we need.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he advocates for the persecuted minority in South Africa.
  • For the president and his administration officials to be discerning in their discussions with foreign leaders.
