The measure would provide coverage as the cybersecurity sector has experienced shortages.
Representative Ro Khanna of California and Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina have proposed legislation to implement a rotational program for federal cybersecurity professionals, allowing them to transfer easily between federal agencies. The legislators say that this will help address the ongoing shortage of cybersecurity personnel, a global shortfall that has been affecting the U.S. government for over 20 years.
Representative Khanna also stated that a rotational program would make U.S. cybersecurity positions more desirable for potential employees “because it would be very attractive for someone to come to the federal government, and not just in one agency, but they get to go through all of the agencies.” The congressman said workers would gain substantial experience before going to the private sector.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Representatives Mace and Khanna as they seek a solution for the shortage of federal cybersecurity professionals.
- For wisdom for House Speaker Johnson and Senate Majority Leader Thune as they preside over their respective chambers of Congress.
