State Department Places Additional Sanctions on Chinese and Iranian Entities

The administration imposes secondary sanctions for the third straight day.

The United States has imposed more sanctions this week against third parties who allegedly advanced Iran’s nuclear weapons research. These new secondary sanctions, applied to entities linked to previously sanctioned parties, have been imposed as President Trump’s administration is seeking to craft a new nuclear deal with the Middle Eastern country. The individuals and entities are in both China and Iran.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said these entities are tied to the direct successor of Iran’s pre-2004 nuclear weapons program.

“All individuals sanctioned are involved in activities that materially contribute to, or pose a risk of materially contributing to, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction,” Secretary Rubio stated.

“The United States cannot allow Iran to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said. “The Iranian regime’s relentless and irresponsible pursuit of advanced ballistic missile capabilities, including its efforts to indigenize its production capacity, represents an unacceptable threat to the United States and the stability of the region.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretaries Rubio and Bessent as they collaborate on the imposition of sanctions to prevent Iran’s development of nuclear weapons.
  • For President Trump and members of his Cabinet as they work to improve U.S. national security.
