Thousands of international leaders set to gather for formal installation.
Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and their wives, will attend Pope Leo XIV’s inaugural mass in Vatican City this Sunday. The vice president and secretary of state are both practicing Catholics and will be joining a host of other international officials as part of the U.S. delegation to the pope’s formal installation.
“I’m sure millions of American Catholics and other Christians will pray for his successful work leading the Church,” the vice president stated. “May God bless him!”
Pope Leo was born in Chicago, Illinois, making him the first U.S.-born pontiff. He will preside over the inaugural mass in St. Peter’s Square.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the safety of the vice president, second lady, secretary of state, and his wife as they travel to Italy for the pope’s formal installation.
- For President Trump and members of his administration as they seek to protect the free exercise of religion in the U.S.
- For the Lord to work through Pope Leo to spread the gospel of Christ Jesus throughout the world.
