The department is also distributing funding that was announced but not distributed by the previous administration.
The Department of Transportation (DOT) recently announced 180 new infrastructure grants worth over $3.2 billion. Projects include the replacement of Alabama’s I-10 Bridge, which will receive $550 million for its Mobile River bridge and Bayway multimodal construction. Several grants are being directed to the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Federal Highway Administration (FHA).
“America is building again,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said. “At the Department of Transportation, that means getting back to basics: Building More, Building Efficiently, and Building Quickly.”
Secretary Duffy highlighted the inefficient and high-cost requirements of the previous administration, stating that road construction was delayed by “red tape and leftist social requirements.“ He added, “This administration has a different vision… make government work for the American people.”
The prior administration had announced funding grants to 3,200 projects that were never distributed, delaying investment in critical infrastructure projects.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Duffy to receive God’s direction as he oversees the distribution of grant funding for infrastructure projects.
- For prudence for Transportation Department officials as they receive applications for grants and review project proposals.
