The House of Representatives approved the bill, introduced by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia in January, to codify President Donald Trump’s change of the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. If passed by the Senate, all federal agencies would be mandated to update documents and maps within six months.
“This is such an important thing to do for the American people,” Congresswoman Greene said. “The American people deserve pride in their country and they deserve pride in the waters that we own, that we protect with our military and our coastguard.”
She stated that the House minority was catering to Mexican cartels with their unanimous opposition.
