President Donald Trump announced his next interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, former prosecutor and media host Jeanine Pirro.
“I am pleased to announce that Judge Jeanine Pirro will be appointed interim United States Attorney for the District of Columbia,” President Trump stated. “Jeanine is incredibly well qualified for this position, and is considered one of the Top District Attorneys in the History of the State of New York. She is in a class by herself. Congratulations Jeanine!“
The new U.S. attorney previously served as the assistant district attorney and district attorney in Westchester County, New York. She also served as a West Chester County Court judge.
Senator Thom Tillis, who refused support for Ed Martin, President Trump’s previous choice for the D.C. attorney post, stated, “Jeanine Pirro has a had a long and storied career as a prosecutor and she is a great choice by [President Trump] to serve as U.S. Attorney for DC!“
The president announced that Mr. Martin would be serving in the Department of Justice as “Director of the Weaponization Working Group, Associate Deputy Attorney General, and Pardon Attorney.”
