Treasury Department also sues federal workers union to end collective bargaining for IRS employees.
District Judge Paul Friedman temporarily blocked the implementation of President Donald Trump’s executive order that would exempt several federal agencies from collective bargaining requirements. Worker’s unions use collective bargaining to negotiate contracts with employers. A few federal agencies, such as the FBI, are exempt from collective bargaining requirements.
President Trump signed an executive order in March to waive collective bargaining requirements for more than a dozen agencies, which resulted in the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), which represents nearly 160,000 federal employees, suing the administration. After reviewing the lawsuit, Judge Friedman ruled that the NTEU has a likely chance of winning its lawsuit, issuing a preliminary injunction to block the order until court proceedings are resolved.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for federal judges as they hear challenges to the actions and orders of the president’s administration.
- For President Trump and members of his Cabinet to seek God’s direction as they endeavor to reduce government overhead.
