President Appoints Leaders to Advance Forest Management and Conservation

The roles will address wildfire prevention and natural resource stewardship.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced two appointments by President Trump to prioritize forest management, wildfire prevention, and natural resource conservation. Kristin Sleeper, named Deputy Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment, previously worked on natural resource legislation for the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and the House Committee on Agriculture.

Tom Schultz has been appointed Chief of Staff for Natural Resources and Environment. The former U.S. Air Force officer brings leadership experience in forestry and land management, including directing Idaho’s Department of Lands and managing 2.4 million acres of endowment lands. His prior roles also include overseeing forestry operations at Idaho Forest Group and leading Montana’s Department of Natural Resources and Conservation.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to be led by the Lord as he appoints individuals to various positions in his administration.
  • For Deputy Under Secretary Sleeper and Chief of Staff Schultz as they begin their roles.
