Secretary of State Antony Blinken is meeting with officials in Jordan today. He has returned to the Middle East due to regional concerns after the regime in Syria was overthrown last week.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said Secretary Blinken “will reiterate the United States’ support for an inclusive, Syrian-led transition to an accountable and representative government.”
The spokesman added, “He will discuss the need for the transition process and new government in Syria to respect the rights of minorities, facilitate the flow of humanitarian assistance, prevent Syria from being used as a base of terrorism or posing a threat to its neighbors, and ensure that chemical weapons stockpiles are secured and safely destroyed.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Blinken to seek God’s guidance as he meets with Jordanian officials.
- For the president and members of his administration in the aftermath of the rebels taking over Syria.
- For wisdom for Senators and Representatives as they conduct hearings and negotiate legislation in the final weeks of the current session.
