Defense Department Announces Temporary Pier Installed for Gaza Aid

Central Command states the UN will coordinate the distribution of the aid.

U.S. Central Command officials announced Thursday that its floating pier has been installed in Gaza and will begin delivering humanitarian aid to Palestinians. The installation of the pier had been delayed over a week by poor weather conditions. Due to the instability of the region during Israel’s war against Hamas, Palestinians have faced severe food shortages. There have also been reports of Hamas seizing control of some of the aid that has been sent to Gaza.

Pallets of aid are being shipped on commercial vessels from Cyprus to the floating pier. On Friday, the first trucks began to carry aid across the pier to Gaza. The U.S. military estimates that the delivery of aid could increase up to 150 truckloads per day.

The command said, “The United Nations will receive the aid and coordinate its distribution into Gaza.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Central Command officials as they oversee U.S. military operations in the Middle East.
  • For UN workers to be effective in distributing humanitarian aid to residents of Gaza.
  • For the peace of Jerusalem and wisdom for Israeli leaders.
