Second Gentleman Meets with Jewish College Students

The White House event was part of the Holocaust Remembrance Day observance.

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff hosted Jewish students from several universities at the White House on Monday as part of the administration’s remembrance of the Holocaust. The second gentleman, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, will also be meeting with Holocaust survivors. The attendees’ grandparents survived the Holocaust as well.

“On Yom HaShoah, we honor the lives of the six million Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust,” the second gentleman stated. “At a time when antisemitism is surging, including threats of violence against Jews, we are reminded that we must never allow history to repeat itself. We must continue to fight antisemitism and hate and educate others on the horrors of the past.”

Mr. Emhoff has reached out to some students who were harassed in the recent campus demonstrations. He has been in contact with Jewish community leaders as well as students.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the second gentleman as he seeks advocates for Jewish people and meets with Holocaust survivors and their descendants.
  • For wisdom for the president and members of his administration as they consider ways to address antisemitism.
