President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are hosting a State Dinner at the White House as part of today’s Teacher of the Year celebration.

The first lady, who is a professor of composition writing at Northern Virginia Community College, said that recognizing the teacher of the year is “one of my favorite events at the White House.“

“I always say teachers are our heroes,“ First Lady Jill Biden said when she announced the dinner. “I love celebrating teachers.“

The teachers of the year from all 50 states will attend the event alongside Missy Testerman of Tennessee, this year’s National Teacher of the Year.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and first lady as they host the State Dinner for the teachers of the year.
  • For wisdom for Secretary Cardona and U.S. Education Department officials.
  • For the Lord to work in and through the education of America’s youth.
