Secretary Yellen Optimistic Heading into World Bank Meetings

She says, “America’s economic strength will continue to underpin global growth.“

Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen began the International Monetary Fund and World Bank meetings with financial leaders from around the world on Wednesday. They will discuss anti-money laundering tactics and balanced economic growth.

President Biden’s administration will continue to advocate for expanding lending limits for countries impacted by climate change and natural disasters, working to uplift global growth by collectively addressing individual challenges.

“From the start of the administration, President Biden has made clear that American isolationism was over,” Secretary Yellen said ahead of the meetings. “So while we expect that America’s economic strength will continue to underpin global growth, we’ve also been engaging with the world to mitigate short-term risks and support sustainable long-term growth.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Secretary Yellen as she interacts with global banking leaders and financial ministers.
  • For the president and members of his administration to receive God’s direction as they advocate for expanded international lending policies.
