In the News…

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy testified before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, saying that he was optimistic regarding modernization efforts the U.S. Postal Service is making. Some of the changes have caused delays in postal deliveries as massive new facilities have been intended to streamline local operations.

Postmaster Dejoy told the committee members, “The road to success will not be a straight, easy path. Rather, it will be a series of accomplishments, struggles, and recoveries that will be uncomfortable at times.”

He continued, “In regards to service deteriorating, we recognize that, and we apologize to the constituents that we see that service. But in the long term, if we don’t make these changes, that will be every day, everywhere around the nation.”

The postmaster said that new facilities “will be the finest running parts of the organization very shortly. We have to allow time to transition.”
