The justices of the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in three cases this week.

In Snyder v. United States, the former mayor of Portage, Indiana, is challenging a conviction of funds bribery under a federal statute.

Chiaverini v. City of Napolean involves the claim of malicious prosecution against an Ohio store manager who bought stolen jewelry.

In Fischer v. United States, the charge of obstruction of an official proceeding related to the events of January 6, 2021, is being challenged since the statute “prohibits obstruction of congressional inquiries and investigations,“ which were not the business of Congress that day.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Chief Justice Roberts to seek God’s direction as he presides over the high court.
  • For the justices of the court to be discerning in their deliberations about these and other cases that await decisions.
  • For the U.S. attorney general and officials in the Justice Department as they prosecute federal offenses.
