Shine!

Since we have such a hope, we are very bold.          2 Corinthians 3:12

The account of Moses in Exodus records that he spent forty nights upon Mount Sinai encountering God (Exodus 24:18). He came down the mountain at the end of that time, ready to give a report to his community. However, his countenance was so radiant with light after being in the presence of the glory of God that the people were afraid to come close to him. So Moses put a veil over his face when he spoke before the assembly (Exodus 34:29-35).

Similar to Moses coming off the mountain, the more time you spend with God the more you will reflect His glory. Your countenance will be brighter and people will respond as your thoughts and actions shine with God’s light. Are you prepared to respond when people notice God’s radiance reflected in your life?

The key to sharing your faith effectively is rooted in the depth of the hope that lies within you. The Apostle Peter instructs, “Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15).

As the election season unfolds in America, ask the Lord for discernment as you decide who you will support. Intercede on behalf of those currently in office as well as those seeking it. Pray for God to draw the hearts of the people to Him so that they choose leaders who know Him and follow His ways.

14 But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. 15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. 16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
