House Committee Considers Impeachment Articles for DHS Secretary

Hearings concluded regarding his mismanagement of the U.S. border.

The House Homeland Security Committee is meeting to markup articles of impeachment for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The committee concluded its hearings earlier this month that investigated “high crimes and misdemeanors” surrounding U.S. border and immigration policies.

Committee Chair Representative Mark Green of Tennessee stated, “In the Committee’s impeachment hearings, members received testimony from top legal officials that detailed how Secretary Mayorkas has failed to uphold his oath of office, how his actions and decisions rise to the level of impeachable offenses, and how his misconduct is costing states across the country.”

He added, “The final remedy for dealing directly with Secretary Mayorkas’ willful and systemic disregard for the rule of law is impeachment. After three years of this crisis and a year of investigations and proceedings, we must move forward with accountability.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Chairman Green and members of the committee to be discerning in their drafting of the impeachment articles.
  • For Secretary Mayorkas to consider realigning border policies with constitutional and congressional U.S. laws and regulations.
  • For God’s purposes to be accomplished in the United States.
