Transportation Department Funds EV Charging Station Upgrades

Nearly 4,500 stations will be repaired or replaced.

The Department of Transportation awarded $150 million to 20 states to improve their existing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. This funding will improve, repair, or replace 4,500 EV charging ports, some of which are already out-of-date with the quickly improving building code for public charging stations.

“The EV revolution is here. To make the most of it we must ensure that everyone, from the largest cities to the most rural communities, has access to reliable EV charging infrastructure,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “These grants bring us another step closer to a national EV charging network that keeps up with the EV transition that’s well underway.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Buttigieg to be discerning as he heads the Department of Transportation.
  • For U.S. transportation officials as they endeavor to upgrade and enhance the electric vehicle charging stations.
