Former NIAID Director Testifies Before Congressional Committee

The key public health official “did not recall” details about COVID-19.

The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic heard testimony from former Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Anthony Fauci, on Monday in a closed hearing. Members of the subcommittee questioned the doctor regarding COVID-19.

Representative Brad Wenstrup of Ohio, chairman of the subcommittee, reported that Dr. Fauci was unable to recall details of significance related to the policies of the government during COVID or of the origins of the virus.

Chairman Westrup stated, “Dr. Fauci’s testimony today uncovered drastic and systemic failures in America’s public health systems. While leading the nation’s COVID-19 response and influencing public narratives, he simultaneously had no idea what was happening under his own jurisdiction at NIAID.”

“It is also concerning that the face of our nation’s response to the world’s worst public health crisis ‘does not recall’ key details about COVID-19 origins and pandemic-era policies,” he added. The press release stated that Dr. Fauci told the legislators he “did not recall” more than 100 times during his testimony.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for Chairman Wenstrup as he heads the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
  • For members of the subcommittee as they seek information regarding failures in the government during the pandemic.
