Wednesday, January 3

U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson of Louisiana, will be accompanied by 60 other federal legislators today on a visit to the U.S. border with Mexico at Eagle Pass, Texas.

Customs and Border Patrol agents report that they encountered more than 300,000 migrants during December, which equals the population of Cincinnati, Ohio. Those numbers do not include the “got-aways.” Migrants are coming not only from Central and South America, but from places such as China, India, Turkey, Ukraine, Senegal, Cuba, and Haiti.

Speaker Johnson previously wrote a letter to President Biden, stating, “We are now more vulnerable to a terrorist attack on our homeland than ever.” He noted that ending the policies that had protected the border has undermined the sovereignty and security of America.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Speaker Johnson and the legislators as they assess the situation at the U.S. border with Mexico and seek solutions.
  • For Customs and Border Protection officers as they process thousands of migrants crossing the border.
  • For Border Patrol agents as they seek to do their jobs in the face of overwhelming numbers of migrants.
  • That the president and his administration would enforce existing federal immigration laws and border security regulations.
