President Biden’s administration announced the launch of a sponsorship-based refugee program this week.

The U.S. State Department will administrate the Welcome Corps initiative, which allows groups of five or more citizens or permanent residents to nominate specific people for refugee status.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sarah Cross, of the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, said, “This program taps into the tremendous capacity and willingness of our communities to help people arrive in safe, orderly, and legal ways with the support that they need, which should appeal to any administration.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Deputy Assistant Secretary Cross to be discerning as she heads the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.
  • For the president and secretary of state as they implement changes to the nation’s immigration and asylum policies.
  • For the Lord’s purposes to be accomplished in the United States.
