The Senate delayed its Christmas recess that was scheduled to begin Friday and will convene today to consider military aid for Ukraine and Israel as well as U.S. border security.

“Let’s keep working to find a solution instead of rushing for the exits,“ Majority Leader Schumer said in postponing the recess. “This may be our last best chance to get this legislation done.”

The House of Representatives has already adjourned for the holidays, but Speaker Mike Johnson could call for a return to Washington, D.C., should the Senate succeed in passing a package deal.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Senator Schumer as he convenes the Senate to work on the aid package.
  • For discernment for members of the Senate as they consider the funding for Ukraine, Israel, and the U.S. border.
  • For the president and his advisors as they promote continued aid to Ukraine.
