Defense Innovation Unit Schedules Technology Summit

The Defense Department will update companies on autonomous system development and gather feedback

The Department of Defense’s (DoD) Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) will host a technology summit in early 2024, updating companies on the status of their Replicator initiative and receiving feedback to move the initiative forward.

The Pentagon’s Replicator initiative is planning to place thousands of autonomous systems on the field under multiple military domains by 2025. The DIU’s director of strategy Aditi Kumar recently said that this summit will be crucial in showing the companies producing the systems their current plans and allow them to point out potential hurdles in their future work with the Defense Department.

“We’re bringing in our partners to think through what capabilities are critical to this and how we build some of the common architecture pieces and other enabling pieces to deliver a capability that, over the long term, the department can benefit from,” Director Kumar said in a November 30 briefing.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Director Kumar as she heads the Defense Innovation Unit’s Office of Strategy.
  • For wisdom for Secretary Austin as he heads the Department of Defense.
  • For leaders in the Pentagon to provide discerning counsel to the president and his administration.
