Ronald Harold Johnson was born in April 1955 in Mankato, Minnesota. He earned a degree in business and accounting from the University of Minnesota. He continued his education, but did not achieve a master’s degree.

He and his wife moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where he worked in his wife’s family business. He later formed a company of his own and purchased his wife’s family business, where he was CEO until elected to the Senate. He has been a member of the Senate since January 2011.

He is married to Jane and they have three grown children. He is Lutheran.

Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin said border security should be the number one priority of President Biden and Congress. 

He said that, particularly as threats come from the Middle East, partisan legislators need to use their leverage and insist on restoring border security before any further funding to Ukraine gets approved. 

Senator Johnson stated, “I believe it is the President of the United States’ responsibility to address clear and present dangers, not cause them.”
