In Step

I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.      Job 42:2

God’s purposes come to pass, but it is up to His people to be in step with Him. In His sovereignty, He uses prayer for that loving relationship He desires to have with people. In the book of Esther, Mordecai said this to his young cousin who had become queen, “For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14). Out of fear, Esther was tempted to avoid becoming part of God’s plan to save her people. Instead, she instructed Mordecai and her attendants to fast and pray. She then boldly presented her case before the king and the Lord saved the Jewish nation through her.

God will carry out His intentions on this earth, but His people need to align themselves with His purpose and plan. Seek God’s plan for you. You are His child, created to live in ways that glorify His name. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). Day by day, yield yourself to His ways and He will work out His unique design for your life.

Pray for the citizens and governing officials of the United States would fall in line with His objectives. Pray for a great spiritual return to Christ for the people of the United States, that the entire nation would be on God’s side and honor Him.

Today’s Verse: Job 42:2

I know that you can do all things,
    and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

For you formed my inward parts;
    you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
    my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
    intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
    the days that were formed for me,
    when as yet there was none of them.

17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
    How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
    I awake, and I am still with you.
