Today, Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Lee Satterfield is wrapping up her travels to Paris, France. Assistant Secretary of State Michele Sison for International Organization Affairs headed the United States delegation to the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) General Conference.

These State Department officials have been participating in the process of the United States rejoining UNESCO.

State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said that Assistance Secretary Satterfield’s trip “emphasizes the United States’ strategic engagement in people-to-people diplomacy, which goes beyond the confines of government to meet people where they are to promote peace and democracy, as well as support broader U.S. foreign policy goals to expand access to education, economic equity, and societal opportunity and inclusion.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Assistance Secretary Satterfield to seek God’s wisdom as she wraps up her meetings with UNESCO delegates.
  • For Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai as they conclude the APEC summit today.
  • For prudence for the president and his advisors as they craft foreign policy.
