Interior Department Advances 15 Renewable Energy Projects

Multiple facilities will be created to generate power.

Secretary Deb Haaland announced this month that the Department of the Interior is moving forward with 15 renewable energy projects in the Western United States. The creation of various clean energy hubs and corresponding infrastructure has been approved by the Bureau of Land Management. The projects include two solar facilities in California’s Riverside County set to generate enough energy to power over 250,000 homes, around 364 megawatts.

“The advancement of these projects reflects significant progress across the West to decarbonize our economy, create jobs, and help address the climate crisis,” Secretary Haaland said. “They also build on the tremendous momentum we’ve seen throughout this administration to [break] ground on transmission lines that will deliver this clean energy across the West.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Secretary Haaland as she oversees the establishment of renewable energy facilities.
  • For Director Tracy Stone-Manning as she heads the Bureau of Land Management.
