We know that for those who love God all things work together for good. – Romans 8:28

Many believers take comfort in today’s verse, with good reason! You serve a Lord who cares about you, personally. The qualifier for things working out for good is that of loving God. Jesus said in John 14:15 that if you love Him you will keep His commands. The apostle John stated that “it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother“ (1 John 3:10). Paul outlines love in his first letter to the Corinthians, stating that love is patient and kind, it isn’t arrogant, envious, pushy, nor irritable. Love celebrates the truth and perseveres (1 Corinthians 13:4-8). Ask the Lord today, as you pray over the United States, how you can love Him better. Open your heart and mind to receive fresh direction from God and give Him thanks!

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • That God will draw the hearts of officials heading U.S. government agencies to Him so they comprehend and embrace His love.
  • For members of Congress as they deliberate legislation to resolve issues facing the nation.
