November 1st – Wednesday

I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. – Jeremiah 29:11

In Jeremiah 29:10-13 God speaks to the children of Israel in their captivity. He tells them that when the 70 years of Sabbath rest for the land are completed, He will come for them and bring them home. Today’s verse continues on the vein of the plans God has for them. His intentions are for their good, for a future and a hope, and that hope is the Messiah, Jesus Christ Himself. God also says that He will hear their prayers, and they will find Him when they seek Him (vv. 12-13). How awesome it is to know no matter what your “captivity” is, God has a good future in store when you pray and seek Him. Always remember, even when all seems lost, to look to the Lord and know that He sees, listens to, and understands you and that He has your best interest in mind. Praise God today for the good He has done and the good He will do!

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • That the president and members of his Cabinet turn to the Lord for guidance.
  • For senators and representatives in Congress to look to God for wisdom.
