Nearly 1,000 U.S. Citizens Evacuated from Israel

President’s administration partners with airlines to offer flights to Europe.

The U.S. Department of State has transported nearly 1,000 Americans from Israel to Europe, purchasing chartered flights from airline companies to make 4,000 seats available to U.S. citizens who want to depart the country. More flights are scheduled to depart from Tel Aviv to allow as many individuals and families as possible a chance to escape the violence in the area.

Since the terrorist group Hamas launched civilian-targeted attacks against Israel on October 7, over 3,000 U.S. citizens have reported their safe departure from Israel to the Department of State. Large airline companies such as United Airlines and American Airlines have suspended direct flights from Israel to the U.S., though at least 30 members of Congress have urged them to resume direct flights “as quickly as possible.”

The Department of State said it will “continue to monitor demand from U.S. citizens for assistance in departing Israel on a real-time basis.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary of State Blinken as he heads his department’s efforts to evacuate Americans from the conflict in Israel.
  • For legislators and other government officials who are doing what they can to accommodate U.S. citizens’ exit from Israel.
