U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken began a trip to the Middle East on Wednesday with a visit to Israel in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks by Hamas last weekend.
Secretary Blinken extended his trip through today, meeting with officials not only in Israel and Jordan but in Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt as well.
State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said Secretary Blinken has engaged “regional partners on efforts to help prevent the conflict from spreading, secure the immediate and safe release of hostages, and identify mechanisms for the protection of civilians.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Blinken to be discerning as he discusses support for Israel with foreign leaders.
- For members of Congress as they negotiate aid for Israel’s defense.
- For the president and the defense secretary to seek God’s direction as they divert military aid to Israel.
