President Meets with Company CEOs

The closed-door meeting covered the state of the economy and inflation.

President Joe Biden held a closed-door meeting on Thursday with the leaders of prominent American companies, tapping into their perspective on the current state of the U.S. economy. The meeting was held at the White House and was attended by the CEOs of Target, IBM, Exelon, Bechtel Group, General Catalyst, TIAA, and Otis Worldwide, all of whom are key players within America’s economic sectors.

President Biden will use their perspectives to guide the policy development necessary to encourage further domestic investment in the economy, but will also likely use the information in his 2024 reelection campaign. The economy is a major talking point on the president’s campaign trail, and taking additional steps to revive domestic industries has become one of his reelection pledges.
