Start the Day Off Right

This is the day that the lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.     Psalm 118:24

Mornings often come around too soon. Getting up and going is harder for some than others. How is it for you? Are you a “don’t talk to me until I’ve had my coffee” kind of person? Or maybe you are the type that awakes at dawn, saying, “Good morning, Lord!”

Psalm 118 reminds you that each day comes to you as a gift from God. He has made it for a purpose. While each person’s daily purpose may differ, you can be certain He wants you to approach the day with confidence because He is with you, and He is on your side (verse 6). He wants you to start your day with courage (verse 7). Today’s verse tells you to approach your day with the commitment to rejoice, regardless of circumstances. Finally, you are urged to bless others, give thanks, and rest confidently in His steadfast love for you.

Pray for those in America who need the comfort of the Lord and for those who may be trying to avoid His conviction to repent. Know that God is always working out His purposes for your good. Intercede for members of Congress who need confidence, courage, and commitment today.
