Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. – Hebrews 11:1

Have you ever taken the time to look at the meanings of hope and faith? Webster’s Dictionary defines hope as “to cherish a desire with anticipation: to want something to happen or be true.” Faith means to have a “firm belief in something for which there is no proof.” Firm belief with anticipation is what you are called to have toward God, who is your ever-present help in time of need (Psalm 46:1-3). When Jesus was about to leave His disciples, He told them He would send the Helper, the Holy Spirit (John 14:26). And He did (Acts 2:4)! God’s Spirit comes to reside within every believer in Christ, enabling and empowering you to live with hope and faith through circumstances that might otherwise cause despair. Be ready today to stand in the assurance of the Lord’s faithfulness and His ability to equip you for whatever you face.

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • For God to accomplish His will in the United States.
  • For officials in all three branches of U.S. government to seek God’s truth and ways.
