FTC Bans and Fines Telemarketing Scammers

The deceptive marketing of fraudulent auto warranty sales defrauded consumers.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is imposing penalties upon the operators of a fraudulent telemarketing scheme, which scammed consumers across the nation with false claims of “extended automobile warranties.” The Kole Consulting Group and its owner Daniel Kole are under a lifetime ban from engaging in outbound telemarketing or any involvement with extended automobile warranty sales.

“Kole and AVP blasted consumers with illegal calls and made bogus claims about bumper-to-bumper warranties,” said Samuel Levine, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “Today’s order bans Kole and his company from the extended auto warranty industry and imposes a monetary judgment of $6.6 million, continuing the Commission’s aggressive crackdown on telemarketing fraud.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For FTC Chair Lina Khan to have discernment as she leads the commission.
  • For Director Levine as he oversees the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection.
  • For Americans to be aware of, and not fall prey to, telemarketing scams.
