The House Rules Committee, chaired by Congressman Tom Cole of Oklahoma, will meet today to consider the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act and the Schools Not Shelters Act.

The aviation act will authorize the operations of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) through 2028. Provisions in the bill would require the FAA to update rules regarding the operation of drones as well as increase air traffic controller hiring targets. The Department of Transportation would establish a policy under the bill that airlines would be required to seat young children next to accompanying adults without charging extra fees when seats are available.

The Schools Not Shelters Act would prohibit the use of public schools or colleges for the shelter of migrants who have entered the nation illegally.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Representative Cole to seek God’s direction as he chairs the House committee.
  • For Acting Administrator Polly Trottenberg as she oversees the FAA.
  • For Chair Jennifer Homendy as she heads the National Transportation Safety Board.
  • For the president and transportation officials in his administration as updates are made to federal legislation.
