The NATO Summit begins today in Vilnius, Lithuania. President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken are there to continue support for Ukraine in the war with Russia.

President Biden is also going to advocate for Sweden’s acceptance as a member of NATO. Most nations in the defense alliance, as well as Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, are satisfied with the actions Sweden has taken to join the organization.

However, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has withheld approval, saying that Sweden must show respect for Turkey and Muslims. Hungary has also objected to Sweden’s acceptance into the group.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for President Biden and Secretary Blinken as they participate in the NATO summit.
  • For the leaders of the allied countries as they discuss the situation in Ukraine and the acceptance of Sweden’s application for membership in NATO.
  • For the Lord to work out His purposes through the agreements that result from the summit.
