For Good

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good.     Romans 8:28

Living life God’s way is “the good life.“ It is important to realize that when Paul wrote to the Romans in today’s verse and following, he did not say that all things ARE good. Things often do not appear to be going well, but if you are a follower of Jesus, your future will be good—guaranteed. All the suffering, headaches, heartaches, and pain, all the ways you have been misunderstood, wounded, or even persecuted, every sin that has been committed against you God can work through His power to your benefit, for your good.

Through it all, God knows you and understands what you are going through. He knows what lies ahead, and He has promised that, in His economy, nothing is ever wasted! In the midst of everything, you are blessed. So, it is for good! Hold onto the promise that there is nothing that can ever separate you from Christ’s love. And that is good!

As you come to the Lord today in prayer, thank Him for your circumstances and the things He is teaching you. Praise Him that His love for you is unending and that He is always faithful, no matter what! Then pray that the public officials in Washington who do not know the Lord discover the depth of His love through an eternal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Today’s Verse: Romans 8:28

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
