Secretary Yellen Outlines Climate Strategies

Financial ministers hear priorities for developing climate action.

Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen spoke before the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action last week, discussing the development of individual strategies countries can make that collectively aim for net-zero greenhouse emissions.

Secretary Yellen shared the approach she has developed in her current role. She outlined the three steps of prioritizing focus on climate action at every level, establishing clear ways to collaborate with outside experts, and implementing emission-reduction technologies into her department’s daily operations.

“All across the world, we are seeing finance ministries take important institutional steps just like these. Every country confronts a unique set of circumstances,” Secretary Yellen said. “But we all share a common purpose: to mobilize action toward a net-zero world.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Yellen to seek God’s direction as she strategizes climate action.
  • For wisdom for U.S. and international officials as they work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
