USDA and University of KY Hold Ground Breaking Ceremony

Forage Research Facility is the result of government and academic collaboration.

Department of Agriculture officials participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Forage-Animal Production Research Unit on the University of Kentucky campus. The University of Kentucky’s College of Agriculture, Food and the Environment will house the new facility and six USDA Agricultural Research Service scientists will become part of the facility’s staff.

“Agricultural research bolsters economic growth and enhances food quality and safety all while combatting the climate crisis,” said Agriculture Secretary Vilsack. “Today’s groundbreaking builds on more than two decades of partnership with the University of Kentucky, while demonstrating USDA’s latest commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible for agriculture, and to creating profitable and sustainable systems, rooted in science, that will advance farmers’ production for years to come.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Vilsack to seek God’s direction as his department supports academic research programs.
  • For the government and university researchers and scientists involved in the project.
  • For the staff of the new facility and the partnership between the USDA and the university.
