CBP Ending Border DNA Testing

Familial testing has been key in child trafficking and fraud.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will cease DNA testing for family ties this coming week. CBP put out a memo announcing the end of the testing for familial DNA at the border, which was established during President Trump’s administration after a court order with respect to migrant children being separated from their families. There was evidence at the time that the Mexican drug cartels were using children to create fake family units to help other illegals gain access to the border crossing.

CBP has reported that many fake-family fraud attempts have been made by illegals to gain entry, and a government accountability report said as many as 1 in 10 children tested were not shown to be related to those with whom they were crossing that had claimed them as family. A separate report says as many as 30 percent of migrant families where fraud was suspected had no familial DNA relation whatever.

FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before a congressional appropriations committee that it would require an additional $53 million to keep the volume of DNA samples fed into the database at the agency current.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Acting Commissioner Troy Miller as he oversees Customs and Border Protection.
  • For Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to seek God’s direction as he implements immigration policies in the Department of Homeland Security.
  • For Director Christopher Wray as he leads the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
