Today, President Joe Biden is meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Hiroshima, Japan. President Biden will also participate in the G7 Summit beginning there today.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said, “By closely working together with the United States, we will strongly demonstrate to the world the strong will of the G-7 to protect the rules-based international order.”

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated President Biden and G7 leaders “will discuss a range of the most pressing global issues, including the G7 unwavering support for Ukraine, addressing the dual food/climate crisis, securing inclusive and resilient economic growth, and continuing to lead a clean energy transition at home and for our partners around the world.“
