CDC Director Announces Resignation

Now that the COVID public health emergency has ended, Dr. Walensky feels she completed her tenure.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky announced that she will be transitioning out of her position by the end of June. President Biden appointed her during the height of the pandemic in December 2020. Dr. Walensky stated that, now that the emergency health declaration has come to a close, it is time to move on to the next chapter of her career.

“While at CDC, I had the true gift of meeting, working with, and giving voice to thousands of people at the agency who work 24/7 to worry about health and public health so that the rest of the nation does not have to,” Director Walensky said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his advisors as they consider candidates to fill the role of CDC director.
  • For CDC officials as they transition out of the pandemic era functions of the past three years.
  • For Dr. Walensky as she pursues new opportunities.
