DOJ Arrests 288 Suspects in Illegal Opioid Trafficking Case

Operation SpecTor targets international drug sales on “dark web.”

The Department of Justice announced the successful conclusion of “Operation SpecTor” this week, having arrested 288 suspects involved in illegally trafficking opioids through the dark web. The department partnered with governments throughout North America, Europe, and South America to accomplish the largest number of documented seizures made in any operation thus far. Law enforcement seized 117 firearms, 850 kilograms of drugs, and $53.4 million in cash and virtual currencies as part of this massive string of arrests.

“Our message to criminals on the dark web is this: You can try to hide in the furthest reaches of the internet, but the Justice Department will find you and hold you accountable for your crimes,” Attorney General Merrick Garland stated.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Attorney General Garland to seek God’s guidance as he heads the Justice Department.
  • For Director Wray as he leads the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
  • For federal officers, agents, and attorneys who are working to reduce the rates of drug trafficking into the U.S.
