Labor Secretary Nomination Advances Out Of Committee

Nominee Julie Su will receive full vote in the Senate.

The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee narrowly voted to move President Joe Biden’s nominee for Labor Secretary, Julie Su, forward. She was nominated to replace the former Labor Secretary Marty Walsh and was approved by the committee for a full Senate vote.

Su has served as a deputy labor secretary since 2021 and formerly served as labor commissioner for California. During her tenure, she had a track record of supporting laws that classified some independent contractors as full employees, receiving the support of many labor unions.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for members of the Senate as they deliberate the president’s nominee for labor secretary.
  • For Deputy Secretary Su as her nomination comes before the entire Senate.
