FCC Issues Disclosure Advisory

Agency reminds companies of the obligation to disclose foreign ownership and investments.

A recent Enforcement Advisory was issued by the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Enforcement Bureau to remind license holders and authorized telecommunications providers—with reportable foreign investment and ownership of their responsibilities—to register prompt, thorough, and accurate information with the FCC. These obligations would include transfers of licenses and authorizations and registrations in any upcoming, one-time foreign ownership information.

“There are consequences for failing to file accurate or timely information with the FCC about changes related to foreign involvement in companies with access to U.S. communications networks,” said Chief of the Enforcement Bureau Loyaan Egal. “When it comes to assessing U.S. national security and law enforcement interests, we will be vigilant in ensuring that companies comply with these important disclosure requirements.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Chair Jessica Rosenworcel as she heads the commission.
  • For Chief Egal as he oversees the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau.
  • For wisdom for members of the commission as they seek to ensure national security in communications.
