Senator Blumenthal Has Surgery on Fractured Leg

He expects to be back in the Senate next week.

Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut suffered a fracture in his femur during a parade to honor the University of Connecticut men’s basketball victory last week. Fellow parade-goers tripped and fell on him. The senator underwent surgery on Sunday.

He stated via social media, “I just got out of surgery to repair the minor fracture to my upper femur. The surgery was completely successful, and the staff, docs, and everyone here at Stamford Hospital has been magnificent.” He added that he had already begun physical therapy.

Senator Blumenthal said he is planning to be in the Senate for votes “next week.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Senator Blumenthal to have a full and speedy recovery.
  • For the physical therapists as they help the senator rehab.
  • For members of the House and Senate as they take Easter recess.
