President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are traveling to Rolling Fork, Mississippi, today. According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, “They will visit with first responders, state and local officials, and communities impacted by the recent devastating storms.” The press secretary added, “They’ll survey recovery efforts and reaffirm their commitment to supporting the people of Mississippi as long as it takes.”

Over the weekend, “President Biden spoke with Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves and members of the Mississippi delegation,” the press secretary continued, stating that “The president also approved an expedited major disaster declaration for Mississippi and ordered federal funding be made available to support emergency response efforts.”

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell are expected to also visit Mississippi to survey the recovery efforts.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for the president as he meets with officials to coordinate a response to the damage caused by the tornado.
  • For safety and courage for the thousands of service men and women that are on the ground working on the recovery efforts.
  • For FEMA, the Department of Homeland Security, state, and local departments as they work to help those in need.
